Are you our "Young artist of the year"?

Riddu Riđđu Festivála aims to encourage artistic development amongst young Sámi artists and create a platform for them to reach national and international audience. The acknowledgement/scholarship is awarded to Sámi youth between the ages of 18 and 25 who wish to focus on artistic development and pursue an artistic career. The applicant's portfolio must have a Sámi profile.

The young artist of the year will recieve:

• A Scholarship of 40 000 NOK
• Their own program/event during Riddu Riđđu Festivála 2025. 
• Marketing as «Riddu Riđđu’s Young artist of the year» throughout the year. 
• The opportunity to attend/perform at festivals/events, nationally and internationally. 
• Offers to participate in seminars hosted by, and recieve coaching from, Talent Norge. 
• A one month artist recidency at Lásságámmi. 
• Your own artistic project through Riddu Sessions, which will premiere at Riddu Riđđu 2026. 

Conditions: 

• The candidate must be between 18 - 25 years old. 
• The candidate must have affiliation to Sápmi (the Sámi areas in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia) 
• The acknowledgement requires a presentation of the artist’s work during Riddu Riđđu Festivála. 
• The candidate must include a plan for how the scholarship will be spent. 
• Within a year of receiving the scholarship the candidate must send a written report on the usage of the scholarship. 
• The application must contain a brief description of you and your artistic work (1-2 pages). Feel free to attach pictures, films, links or the like of your work.
