Maren Uthaug is an author, comic book writer and blogger born in Kautokeino, but who grew up in Denmark. She now lives in Copenhagen. She describes herself as half Sami, half Norwegian and quite Danish Her debut novel Sånn ble det (2014) is about a Sami girl who moves to Denmark. She has released several satirical comic books about Sami culture and has drawn the comic strip Ting jeg gjorde for the newpaper Politiken since 2013. Her second novel, Hvor der er fugle, will be published in May. At Riddu Riđđu we meet her in conversation with Irene Larsen about her satirical comic books and her novels.
