Buryat–Mongolian Tea Ceremony

Annet

Surzhana Radnaeva is a Buryat multidisciplinary artist who has visited Riddu several times in recent years. This year, she once again invites audiences to experience a Buryat–Mongolian tea ceremony in the Yurta. Here, she shares different aspects of her culture through traditional songs, storytelling, and quiet rituals.

Through her project Traditional Futures, Radnaeva moves between past and present, exploring traditional clothing, textiles, and cultural practices while connecting them to contemporary life.

Always guided by a deep respect for history, Surzhana preserves what should be safeguarded while allowing the past to breathe new life into the future.

The ceremony is described in the artist's own words:

"In the Yurta, the tea is simple, and so are the words. Warm hands, salty flavours, a trace of the steppe."

The ceremony will be held in English.

No advance registration is required, and space is available for approximately 25 participants.

Surzhana Radnaeva will also present her own design work, created through a combination of modern techniques and Buryat cultural traditions.
