We are delighted to present Simon Issát Marainen on the main stage at Riddu Riđđu this summer! 

Marainen is from Soppero on the Swedish side of Sápmi. He is recognized as one of the greatest traditional joikers of our time, with an expression deeply rooted in his heritage and uncompromisingly Sámi. Marainen is described as a vocal artist of great depth and breadth, moving seamlessly between Western tones and thousand-year-old traditions. 

Traditional joik truly belongs on the Riddu stage, and we look forward to being taken on a journey through Marainen’s storytelling and unique voice.
