The new prince of Arnhem Land to Riddu Riđđu

In February, Baker Boy warmed up for 50 Cent in Sydney, this summer he plays his first international concert at Riddu Riđđu!

Danzal Baker aka Baker Boy (21) was born and raised in Arnhem Land, where musical giants like Yothu Yindi and Gurrumul also hails from.

Festivals director Karoline Trollvik says; - As Europe's largest indigenous festival, it is important for us to use the festival as a platform to lift young indigenous talent. One of our primary tasks is to spot those artists who have not yet received the exposure they deserve and we are sure that Baker Boy will get many new fans when he meets Riddu Riđđus's curious and music-hungry audience.

Early on, Baker Boy set his goal of becoming the world's first rapper in the Yolngu Matha language, which is his native language. With the debut single "Cloud 9", he achieved his goal, and at the same time also great success. Baker Boy has had a lot of playing time on radio and has been praised by Australia's largest music channel Triple J. In February this year he warmed up for both 50 Cent and Dizzee Rascal when they played in Sydney and Melbourne.

His latest single "Marryuna", which is a term to dance freely on the Yolngu Matha language, is a tribute to summer festivals. - At Riddu Riđđu we will experience him with four dancers, Yidaki and he will also hold an intimate concert in our Clubb lavvu venue.
