Inga Ravna Eira, or Iŋgos-Máhte Iŋgá, from Karasjok grew up in a reindeer herding family. She worked as a teacher her entire working life in addition to being an author, translator and joiker. She has written lyric poetry, novels and children´s books in Northern Sami language. This year she was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize, for the Sami language area, with Ii dát leat dat eana (2018), a poem with climate change as theme. The book will be released this year in Norwegian, titled Dette er ikke den jorda. Mathis Nango´s illustrations in various shades of blue, enhance the message of the book.

We meet Inga Ravna Eira in conversation with Aud Tåga about the topic of the book and we will hear her read excerpts from this work in Northern Sami and Norwegian.
