Niibeboagán (full!)

Workshop

NB! This course is full and it's not possible to register for a waiting list.

Most people have knives lying around at home, but not many people have a separate belt to hang the knife on!

Niibeboagán (knife belt) has a long tradition of use in Sápmi and is particularly common for use on walks in forest and fields and in reindeer fences. Although niibeboagán is a faithful companion on hikes, there is nothing to stop you from dressing up with it at a festival. In this class you will learn to make your own niibeboagán.

This class requires no prior knowledge. The class requires advance sign-up.

Tuition fee: 500 NOK, this includes all required course materials.

The class runs over three days (you will have to attend for all three days to finish the knife belt) and is taught by duojár Ove Stødle.

This course is organized in collaboration with Duodjeinstituhtta and Center for Northern peoples.
