Storytelling through art workshop

Riddu siida

Lindsey Maillard is a queer multidisciplinary artist from Cheno’ in Alaska, also known as Fairbanks. Using drumming, storytelling, and research as her tools, she invites audiences into stories of place, belonging, and lived experience. Raised by the river, Maillard explores how climate change is affecting Indigenous communities in the region.

I will have people draw circular stories they would like to tell about their homelands, using the drum I created about my research on how changing river ice conditions are effecting my Indigenous community.   - Lindsey Maillard
