UiT-seminar: The will to reconciliation must be shown in action

Seminar

"The will to reconciliation must be shown in action. Here, those in positions of power have a special responsibility, and great challenges await.” This is how 10-year-old Lillen from Nordreisa ended the 36-hour reading of the report from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission at the National Theatre. Truth and reconciliation are central themes in Sápmi and Norway at the moment. The commission presented its report in June. Now the work for reconciliation must start or continue. At this year's UiT seminar, there will be a conversation about truth and reconciliation and about what should happen in the future in Norway and Sápmi.

Conversation partners are associate professor and former commission member Ketil Zachariassen and professor Eva Josefsen, both from UiT Norway's Arctic University. Moderator for the conversation is UiT's vice-chancellor Kathrine Tveiterås.
